1. Who we are

This policy explains what Cadens collects, why it is collected, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. It applies to the Cadens mobile app, operated by Shivora Labs, and the accounts that support it.

Cadens is a phone-based fitness tracking app operated by Shivora Labs. Questions about this policy, or any request relating to your data, can be sent to support@shivoralabs.com.

2. Information you provide

  • Account details: email address and display name. A username is derived automatically from your display name and can be edited.
  • Optional profile details: first and last name, phone number, date of birth, postal address, and an emergency contact. All of these are optional and can be left blank or cleared at any time.
  • Optional content: profile photo, workout photos, workout notes, goals, gear details, mower details, pet profiles, and feedback you submit.

3. Information collected when you use the app

  • Activity data: workout type, start and end time, duration, distance, pace, speed, elevation, step count, and lap splits.
  • Location data: GPS coordinates recorded during an activity you start, including while the app is in the background if you grant background location. Location is not collected when no activity is running.
  • Health data (Android): if you enable Health Connect, Cadens reads steps, distance, active and total calories, floors climbed, activity intensity, and sleep from the apps you choose to share with it. It uses this to add detail to workouts you record, to show last night's sleep, and to suggest activity you did not track. Cadens can read data recorded before you granted permission, limited to those data types, so recent workouts and sleep can be imported. Cadens does not read heart rate or heart rate variability from Health Connect.
  • Health data (iPhone): if you connect Apple Health, Cadens reads workout records you allow, so a workout recorded by your Apple Watch or another app can be suggested.
  • Specialty activity data: treadmill distance and incline values you enter; Dog Walk movement estimates such as sniff stops, leash-pull bursts, cruise segments, rhythm score, and optional pet association; Lawn Care estimates such as covered area, mowing pattern, mower type, and blade-hour usage.
  • Approximate location for weather: a coarse location is used to fetch local conditions and forecast guidance.
  • Diagnostics: app version, device model, operating-system version, permission states, and error events, used to fix crashes and reliability problems.

4. How information is used

  • To record, save, and synchronize your activities, history, settings, and training plans across your devices.
  • To calculate summaries, trends, weekly goals, gear distance, and deterministic training-plan adjustments.
  • To attach Dog Walk sessions to pet profiles you create, and to track mower usage or lawn-area estimates when you use Lawn Care.
  • To show weather guidance relevant to your workout.
  • To operate optional social features you turn on, such as friend requests and the weekly leaderboard.
  • To send notifications and reminders you have enabled.
  • To provide support, investigate abuse, and maintain security and reliability.

Cadens does not use your personal data for advertising, and does not sell personal data.

Cadens does not sell, transfer, or use health, activity, location, pet, or specialty-mode data for advertising, insurance, employment, credit, or eligibility decisions.

5. AI coaching

AI coaching runs only when you explicitly request it. When you do, Cadens sends a compact summary of your training plan — goal type, week structure, and session labels — to a server-side AI service. That request excludes your name, email, contact details, photos, and GPS route data. The AI explains the plan Cadens already generated; it does not create the plan and does not provide medical advice. Responses are cached briefly and are not used to train third-party models.

← Previous: 4. How information is used Next: 6. Storage, security, and service providers →

6. Storage, security, and service providers

Account and activity data is stored in Cadens's backend database, protected by row-level access rules so that each record is readable only by its owner and, for shared features, by people you have explicitly accepted as friends. Data is encrypted in transit. Uploaded media is stored under a per-user folder that only your authenticated account can write to or delete.

Cadens relies on a small number of third-party service providers to operate: a cloud database and authentication provider, a map and geocoding provider, weather data providers (open-source forecast and observation APIs including Open-Meteo and Met.no, and a postal-code lookup service for coarse location resolution), an AI provider used only for the coaching feature described above, and may use an open street-map data source to power an in-development trail discovery feature. These providers process data solely to deliver those features.

Information is disclosed to others only when you choose to share it, when a provider needs it to operate a feature you use, or when required by law.

7. Location and route data

Route coordinates are stored with the activity so you can view your map, elevation, and splits later. Recorded routes are simplified before storage — points that do not change the shape of the path are removed — which reduces the precision retained without altering your recorded distance. Your routes are private by default. They become visible to another person only if you accept them as a friend or you deliberately share an activity card.

← Previous: 6. Storage, security, and service providers Next: 8. Social features →

8. Social features

Friend connections require an exact username and mutual acceptance. Accepted friends can see your activity summaries in the feed and your weekly distance on the leaderboard. You can remove a friend at any time, which immediately ends that visibility. Cadens does not import your contacts.

← Previous: 7. Location and route data Next: 9. Permissions you control →

9. Permissions you control

  • Location: required for GPS-based activities. Background location is optional and only used to keep recording when the screen is off.
  • Physical activity / motion: used for step counting.
  • Bluetooth: planned for future treadmill/device sync. Cadens does not currently connect to treadmill Bluetooth equipment.
  • Camera and photos: used only when you choose to attach or capture workout media.
  • Microphone: used only when you choose to dictate an activity using voice instead of typing it. Audio is processed on-device for speech-to-text and is not stored or uploaded.
  • Notifications: used for reminders and workout status.
  • Health Connect: optional, used only to enrich workouts you recorded.

Denying any permission disables the related feature; the rest of the app continues to work.

← Previous: 8. Social features Next: 10. Data retention and deletion →

10. Data retention and deletion

Your account, profile, and workout history are kept until you delete them or delete your account — this remains true if you stop using the app. Your history stays available to you until you remove it. History retention settings control what is displayed in the app; they hide older sessions from view but do not delete them.

Temporary diagnostic data — logs, debug traces, and short-lived AI coaching logs used to improve reliability — are kept only as long as needed for that purpose and then expire or are deleted. These are separate from your workout history and account data.

Profile > Delete account permanently removes your authentication account, your database records, and your uploaded media. This action cannot be undone. You may export or review your data before deleting. Deletion requests complete within 30 days. Locally stored diagnostic files are removed by clearing app data or uninstalling.

← Previous: 9. Permissions you control Next: 11. Your rights →

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Most of these are available directly in Profile. For anything not available in-app, contact support and Cadens will respond within the period required by applicable law.

Residents of the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom: the legal bases for processing are performance of a contract (providing the app you signed up for), consent (optional permissions, health data, AI coaching), and legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, and reliability).

Residents of California: Cadens does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, and does not offer financial incentives in exchange for personal information.

← Previous: 10. Data retention and deletion Next: 12. Children →

12. Children

Cadens is not directed to children under 13, and accounts may not be created by them. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact support and it will be deleted.

← Previous: 11. Your rights Next: 13. International transfers →

13. International transfers

Cadens's service providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses are used.

← Previous: 12. Children Next: 14. Health and safety disclaimer →

14. Health and safety disclaimer

Cadens is a general fitness and wellness app. It is not a medical device, and nothing it reports — including heart rate, calories, or coaching guidance — is a medical measurement or medical advice. Consult a qualified professional before beginning or changing an exercise program.

Dog Walk insights are not veterinary measurements or veterinary advice. Lawn Care and outdoor GPS activities require your attention and safe judgment; do not interact with the app while operating equipment, crossing roads, cycling, swimming, or doing anything where distraction could create risk.

15. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the "Last updated" date will change and you will be notified in the app before the change takes effect.
